Perusing Spring

Like so many facets of the Atlanta character, the importance of Chastain Park to the homes for sale in Buckhead comes not only from what the Park is, but from what it does. In the spring, the events and festivals in Buckhead – and within nearby reach throughout Atlanta –are so abundant that reviewing them brings to mind the old-fashioned sense of the word, “peruse.” Atlanta folks used it to describe a way of walking, a kind of browsing stroll that allows the attention to fall wherever interest takes you.

Art and Nature in Harmony

Perhaps the centerpiece, especially for those interested in Chastain Park new construction, is the upcoming Chastain Park Arts Festival, May 12-13. In its ninth year, and officially established among the Top 100 arts festivals nationwide, the Festival will attract more than 185 artists and artisans to exhibit their work in the glorious setting of spring in Chastain Park.

Certainly, the exhibiting artists are hopeful of taking home a ribbon or two, but the Festival itself is an award-winner. Recognized as one of the Best Fine Arts and Design Shows, named one of the Top 2 Events by Southeast Tourism Society, and a winner of the Kaleidoscope Award, the Festival is known to attract work that lives up to the season and the setting. Proceeds from the Chastain Park Arts Festival go to a scholarship fund for Atlanta artists that’s administered by the Georgia Foundation for Public Spaces.

From Art to Science

With Atlanta’s being named as a leading finalist in early predictions of where Amazon will choose to locate their second headquarters, the foundation of science and computer education is of growing importance. An example of how Atlanta acts to advance its qualifications is coming to Buckhead’s Lenox Mall on Saturday, May 5. The 2nd Annual Just Say Yes: STEM Fest will turn the Mall into a public learning classroom, for both hands-on and virtual learning techniques for increasing access for all ages to skills that range from basic computer literacy to advanced computer science.

STEM Fest is considered an opening door to promote an “I can” attitude about the skills called for to grow in a digital world.

Joy and Growth

And these are just a couple of examples that illustrate the range of events and festivals taking place this spring.
